All Day Vape

Traditional Tobacco Cigarette

Advanced Personal Vaporizer. Generally used to refer to electronic circuit regulated variable voltage or variable wattage model electronic cigarettes.

Atomizer (Atty)

The heating element in the e-cigarette wrapped around a wick that produces vapour

Bottom Coil Clearomizer (such as Kanger Protank, Mini protank, EVOD, MT3, T3S, etc.). The atomizer coil sits at the bottom of the clearomizer tank.

Brick & Mortar – References a Vape Shop with a physical location you can visit

The Propylene Glycol to Vegetable Glycerin ratio in a bottle of e-liquid

Box Mod

A box shaped e-cigarette. May or may not have a replaceable battery

Cartomizer (Carto)

Cartridges with atomizers built into them, can be disposable or refillable

A plastic tube-like piece that is usually stuffed with some sort absorbent filler material that holds the juice

E-cig designed to look like a traditional cigarette

Clearomizer (Clearo)

Clear casings with atomizers built in that utilize a wick to transfer juice to the atomizer

Vapers who enjoy creating large clouds of vapour

Exhaled Vapour

The heating element within the atomizer

Drip Tip

Mouthpiece of the e-cigarette. Generally replaceable

The flat base area where the positive and negative posts sit on an RBA/RDA, which is designed to keep e-juice off of the battery connection. Some have a small raised lip on the outside edge to prevent e-juice from running down off of the deck.

The act of manually putting e-liquid onto the wick and heating element – no tank

Dry Burn

A method of cleaning atomizers to extend their life by burning the coil in short intervals without juice

Dry Hit

A puff from an e-cigarette when there is no juice being heated into vapour, resulting in an unpleasant burnt taste and harsh throat hit

Electronic Cigarette

A liquid solution containing a mixture of Propylene Glycol (PG), Vegetable Glycerine (VG), flavouring and sometimes nicotine that is heated in the e-cigarette to create vapour

An e-cigarette battery style that offers two different threading types. Usually a pen appearance style e-cigarette. May also refer to the common “eGo” style threading

Flavor Ghosting

When you taste the previous flavour you were vaping after switching e-juice

When too much juice is applied to the atomizer resulting in decreased vapour production, gurgling noises, and possible juice leaking into the drip tip

The act of using an electronic cigarette in such a way that it produces very little vapour. Usually by holding a hit until the exhale is not visible

A clearomizer that uses glass rather than plastic for the tank. Examples would be the Kanger Protank, Protank Mini, or the AnyVape Davide (a Protank 2 clone).

Hybrid, Hybrid PV, Hybrid Mod

A combined topper and battery holder (many of these are Mechanical) designed to fit together as one seamless unit.

The liquid which produces the vapour in an electronic cigarette.

A special circuit used in mechanical PV’s or some APV’s that provides the ability to vary wattage output on the device. The kick is inserted on top of the battery.

Lung Hit/Lung Rip

Inhaling vapour directly from the atomizer into your lungs, as one would take a normal breath

LR or LR Atty

A low resistance atomizer, typically below 2.0 ohms.

Mechanical Mod (Mech Mod)

Modified e-cigarettes that have no regulatory electronic chip or safety features. Generally used by advanced users to accomplish “Cloud Chasing”

Micro Coil

A type of wire coil where the coil is wrapped so that the loops of the coil are all touching, requiring more wraps than a traditional coil.

Used to describe modifications to a device or accessory, or a design variation of a commonly manufactured electronic cigarette

Mouth Hit/Mouth Rip/Mouth-to-Lung

Drawing vapour into the mouth before inhalation, similar to puffing a cigar. May or may not be followed by inhalation

0mg Nicotine (No added Nicotine)

A measure of electrical resistance. A lower number indicates lower resistance resulting in faster heating

E-cigarette battery style that allows use while charging

Personal or Portable Charging Case allows you to charge your e-cigarette without an outlet

Propylene Glycol – A solution used as a base for e-juice

Personal Vaporizer – Another term for e-cigarette

Propylene Glycol, PG

An ingredient in e-juice that produces Throat Hit and carries flavor better than Vegetable Glycerine. Physically much thinner than VG. Can also be used as a nicotine suspension agent.

Rebuildable Atomizer (user serviceable parts). Generally referred to as an RBA when it has a tank or large juice well that does not require dripping of liquid directly onto the coil.

Rebuildable Dripping Atomizer.

Regulated Mod

Modified e-cigarettes that still contain a regulating electronic chip and safety features

Refers to the ability to electricity to travel through the heating element in the e-cigarette

Stealth Vape

An electronic cigarette that is inconspicuous, with a low profile, that is easily concealed. May also refer to Ghosting

An oxidation process that occurs between the flavouring, nicotine, and base (PG/VG) giving your juice time to become more flavourful

E-liquid reservoir

The radius and style of the attachment connector on an e-cigarette battery and the device being used to house your juice (atty, carto, clearo, etc)

Throat Hit

The feeling you get in the back of your throat and in your lungs when you inhale vapour

A device that goes on top of an electronic cigarette battery/battery holder (Atomizers, Cartomizers, Clearomizer, RBAs RDAs, etc.).

Unregulated/Non Regulated Mod

Refers to a Mod that does not have a regulating chip. May refer to mechanical or semi-mechanical mods

The act of using an e-cigarette

An electronic cigarette user

Vegetable Glycerine – Used as a base in e-juice

Variable Voltage – Allows you to change voltage of your e-cigarette

Variable Wattage – Allows you to change the wattage of your e-cigarette

Absorbent material used to draw the e-liquid into the heating element

Generally refers to resistance wire used in building coils for atomizers.
